How does the Ruby 15 compare with the SunRain 15 tube model?
The performance of the Global Solar Ruby 15 and the Sunrain TZ58/1800-15R are nearly the same. The Sunrain 15R has a stainless steel frame and slightly larger tubes. The Ruby 15 has painted aluminum frames, patented *double contact rods, and comes already fully assembled. They are both excellent solar collectors and are, individually, equally priced.

Global Solar New Ruby 15 - Solar Collector for Hot Water
Pre-Assembled Vacuum Tube Heat Pipe Collectors - NEW RUBY series - with patented Double-Contact™ heat pipes and manifolds.
Vacuum tube collectors have some advantages over normal flat copper plate collectors, including that:
- their tubes can withstand much lower temperatures,
- they have higher absorption efficiency, and
- they have much lower emissions losses
Yet, the popular designs of vacuum tube collectors are not modular, so end users must assemble the tubes individually on-site. This takes a lot of time, the tubes are easily broken, and the heat pipes may not be ideally positioned for contact with the manifolds.
To solve these problems, we developed the Global Solar NEW RUBY series which features:
